Most residential garage floor projects in Calgary are priced by the square foot, and the range is wide because the work is mostly in the preparation, not just the coating. Use the planning ranges below — and the calculator — to budget before you invite anyone to quote.
| Coating system | Typical planning range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Standard epoxy | $5–$9 per sq. ft. | Proven, durable and cleanable, with a wide range of colours. |
| Decorative flake epoxy | $6–$10 per sq. ft. | Texture helps hide everyday wear and small imperfections. |
| Polyaspartic / polyurea | $5–$12 per sq. ft. | Often chosen when a faster return to use matters; performance varies by product. |
| Metallic epoxy | $8–$12 per sq. ft. | Decorative, one-of-a-kind showroom-style finish. |
For a typical two-car garage, a realistic Calgary planning range is about $2,400–$7,200 CAD. Smaller or simpler projects can fall below this range; larger areas, repairs, coating removal, moisture problems or premium finishes can push the project above it.
Quotes are based on the actual measured square footage, not the number of cars the garage was sold as.
Cracks, pitting, old paint or a failing coating add repair or removal work before any new system goes down.
Moisture in the slab can prevent adhesion. Testing — and any mitigation — is priced by the contractor after inspection.
The coating system, number of coats and topcoats change both material and labour.
Stem walls, anti-slip texture and extra colour or metallic effects are usually separate line items.
Stored items, built-in cabinets and difficult access add time and can affect the price.
